Dr. Adam J. Bograd is an experienced, board-certified thoracic surgeon currently practicing at the Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle, WA. Dr. Bograd’s clinical focus is on thoracic malignancies, with a particular interest in malignant pleural mesothelioma. He obtained his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. He subsequently completed his general surgery residency at New York University Medical Center. Prior to completing general surgery residency, he completed a two-year research fellowship focusing on targeted immunotherapy for thoracic malignancies within the Center for Cell Engineering and Thoracic Surgery Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, under the mentorship of Drs. Prasad Adusumilli and Michel Sadelain. Dr. Bograd then went on to complete his thoracic surgery fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where his interest in pleural mesothelioma was further fostered, training under several mesothelioma pioneers. In his role as medical reviewer for the Mesothelioma + Asbestos Awareness Center, Dr. Bograd will fact check information for the team and lend his insights on the ever-evolving world of mesothelioma treatment and research.
