Did you mean Mesothelioma?

“Mezothelioma” is a misspelling of the word mesothelioma (“pronounced mez-uh-thee-lee-YOH-muh). Caused exclusively by previous asbestos exposure, mesothelioma is an aggressive and painful form of cancer that has no known cure.

Due to its extended latency period, mesothelioma is often not diagnosed until a patient is well into their sixties or seventies. There are pallative treatment options available for mesothelioma patients, including chemotherapy and radiation.

Certain people – World War II veterans and construction workers, for example – are far more likely to develop an asbestos disease, such as mesothelioma, due to the fact that they are more prone to asbestos exposure.
