Did you mean Mesothelioma?

“Mesotheoloma”is a misspelling of the word mesothelioma (“pronounced mez-uh-thee-lee-YOH-muh). This disease, which often goes undetected for decades, is caused by exposure to asbestos.

The commercial use of asbestos in America began back in the late 1800s and increased during the World War II time period when numerous ships were being built. Businesses kept using it without restrictions until the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission stepped in with limitations during the late 1970s. All told, it’s been estimated that about 5,000 products have been made with asbestos since the late 1800s.

Those who worked with or around asbestos – WWII Navy vets and construction workers, for example – are more likely to develop an asbestos disease, such as mesothelioma, asbestosis, or lung cancer. It is important to understand how these diseases are caused and to understand the symptoms so that you can receive treatment in the early stages of these illnesses if necessary.
