Did you mean Mesothelioma?
“Mesotheleoma” is a common misspelling of the word mesothelioma (“pronounced mez-uh-thee-lee-YOH-muh). This rare form of cancer typically invades either the lining of the abdomen, heart or lungs.
Caused by asbestos exposure, this fatal form of cancer has no known cure, and most sufferers will live less than two years after diagnosis. Pallative measures – chemo and radiation, for example – are available to temporarily ease symptoms and pain.
World War II veterans who served aboard Naval ships are considered to be at an increased risk of developing mesothelioma cancer, as are construction workers, HVAC technicians, automobile repair technicians, and drywallers. If you happen to work in an environment where asbestos may be present, it is important to talk with your doctor about your respiratory health.
