Did you mean Mesothelioma?
Mesophilioma is a common misspelling of “mesothelioma,” (“pronounced mez-uh-thee-lee-YOH-muh). Mesothelioma is a rare malignancy that occurs within the mesothelial cells which line the body’s internal organs. Mesothelioma is known only to be caused by previous exposure to asbestos, and industrial insulation material used extensively up until approximately 1978. Asbestos fibers, which can be introduced to the body through inhalation or ingestion, over time, create a harmful inflammation within the mesothelium, typically upon the pleura (lines the lung) where the majority of mesotheliomas occur. Prognosis is typically poor for mesothelioma patients, though those who are diagnosed early are eligible for much more aggressive therapies.
