Did you mean Mesothelioma?
“Mesolthilioma” is a misspelling of the word mesothelioma (“pronounced mez-uh-thee-lee-YOH-muh). A patient with this illness may not be diagnosed for decades. At present, mesothelioma tends to affect more men than women due to the greater number of men who have worked around asbestos.
When first diagnosed, many of these men are between the ages of 50 and 70. A number of them have worked as plumbers, construction workers and electricians. World War II veterans are also likely to develop mesothelioma, as naval ships built during the late thirties and throughout the forties were laden with asbestos materials.
Unfortunately, there is now proof that others can develop mesothelioma via secondhand exposure to asbestos. In the UK, for example, many women have died from mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos while washing their spouse’s work clothing, or while working in an asbestos-laden school building.
