Verdict - This term refers to the decision of a jury following a trial. The verdict is reached after the deliberation process, during which the members of the jury can review all evidence and information presented at the trial. In a civil case, such as most mesothelioma cases, the verdict consists of a finding in favor of either the plaintiff or defendant. In criminal cases, the verdict may be "guilty" or "not guilty."
