Vascular surgery generally refers to surgery of the vascular (vessel) system. Patients who are suffering from pericardial mesothelioma, which occurs in the lining of the heart, often consult with a vascular surgeon when considering their mesothelioma treatment options.
For those diagnosed with any form of mesothelioma cancer, speaking with several physicians is often the best way to determine which course of treatment may be the most effective. It is important for newly diagnosed mesothelioma sufferers to consider all treatment options, including chemotherapy and resectable surgery, and to do research on each method. No two patients are alike, and the method of treatment that is right for one patient may not be the best for another. Physicians like Dr. David Kerns will be able to offer their educated opinion and expertise and are dedicated to doing the very best for their patients.
